UBESVÆRET LET, UTROLIG STÆRK
8000-seriens stoles karakteristiske udtryk og design var i sin tid et gennembrud
inden for dansk møbelproduktion og var med til at de昀椀nere møbeldesign i et helt
årti.
Møblerne er baseret på en unik og patenteret produktionsteknologi uden brug af
skruer og dyvler, hvilket gør møblet utroligt stærkt og meget 昀氀eksibelt trods sin
lave vægt. Derudover er det et mesterværk af formet træ, karakteristisk for sin
oprindelsestid.
En serie stabelbare stole og skamler, der kombinerer lethed, holdbarhed samt en
bred vifte af anvendelsesmuligheder, hvilket var behovet for den klassiske caféstol.
8000-serien var en del af indretningen af blandt andet ’Cafe Victor’ i København
og blev dermed en del af kulturen og cafélivet i 1980’erne. Den blev designet med
det formål at tjene som en moderne og elegant caféstol. 40 år senere er stolens
funktionalitet og formsprog stadig ultramoderne, hvilket i sig selv giver stolen sin
eksistensberettigelse.
THE 8000 SERIES – ICONC DESIGN SINCE 1981 –
EFFORTLESSLY EASY, INCREDIBLY STRONG
The characteristic expression and design of the 8000 series chair was, in its day,
a breakthrough in Danish furniture manufacturing, and it helped de昀椀ne furniture
design for an entire decade.
The furniture is based on a unique and patented production technology without
the use of screws and dowels, which makes the furniture incredibly strong and
very 昀氀exible despite its low weight. In addition it is a masterpiece of shaped wood,
characteristic for its time of origin.
A series of chairs and stools that combine lightness, durability as well as a wide
range of usage and stackability which was the need of the classic café chair.
The 8000 series was part of the interior design of for example ‘Cafe Victor’ in
Copenhagen and thus became part of culture and cafe life in the 1980s. It was
designed with the purpose of serving as a modern and elegant café chair. 40 years
later, the functionality and design language of the chair is still ultra-modern giving
the chair a right to exists in its own.
